WH editor Felicity Harley made a great choice in Gilmore, the 23-year-old is not only a four-time world surfing champion, but also a champion out of the water.
Gilmore possesses a fun-loving, earthy and 'get-amongst-it' attitude and is a great example for girls to be actively involved in sport - both at a competitive and participatory level.
"I'm an adventurous kind of a girl I'm not a big fan of laying there and sun baking I think that's kind of boring... I've always enjoyed just paddling out there, catching waves, its so refreshing," Gilmore said.

Two horses featured in the TV Commercial based on the fact that two female horses were named in the Associated Press top 10 female athletes in 2010. Yes really! So there's Stephanie with two of her world top 10 female athlete friends... and well done to Serena Williams, named the best female athlete that year! This revelation highlights the need for more female sports coverage... and the much heralded 'I Support Women in Sport' movement by the Australian Women's Health Magazine.
